Když v roce 1951 Jack Kerouac dopsal román Na cestě, vůbec netušil, jaký ohlas bude jeho kniha mít. Tisíce lidí se stejně jako hrdinové románu pustili na „svou cestu“. Román nemá zápletku, je to neustálé popisování krajiny, přírody a míst, kde se hlavní postavy knihy Sal a Dean ocitají na své „Tour de America“. Cyklus mých fotografií, volně inspirován tímto románem, také nemá zápletku. Je to pohled z okna spolujezdce (řidičák už mi propadl a nikdy jsem ho vlastně nevyužil) na krajinu, přírodu a místa, která jsem na svých toulkách s přáteli či s rodinou zahlédl z okýnka automobilu či korby dodávky.

When in 1951 Jack Kerouac finished his novel On the Road, he had no idea how famous the book shall become. Thousands of people followed in the footsteps of the novel’s protagonists and set off on a journey of their own. The novel has no clear plot, it consists of perpetual description of the landscape, nature and places the main protagonists of the book, Sal and Dean, visit during their American tour. My photography series, partly inspired by this novel, has no clear plot either. It is a view of a front seat passenger (my driving licence expired some time ago and I had never really used it), contemplating the landscape, nature and the places I have glimpsed from a car window or a back of a van during my wanderings with my friends or family.
